Top 5 things to do in Menorca
Menorca has been for long the overlooked member of the Balearic Islands. Ibiza has its cool party vibe, Mallorca has its resorts and high rises, but Menorca? This is the hidden gem of Spain which is most likely chosen by celebrities as their summer destination!
Believe it or not, Menorca has an authentic and traditional feel that escaped the hyper-tourism and kept the tranquility and spectacular beaches to be explored.
HERE ARE THE 5 TOP THINGS TO DO IN MENORCA:
1.Explore the coast
Caraibes of Europe? Menorca coastline boasts over 200km, with more than 100 beaches for you to choose from. The mind-blowing color of the clear Mediterranean Sea, white and red sand, pretty coves and pine-fringed bays…
Some beaches are only accessible by boat or long hike… but I will leave it for the next post – “Top Beaches of Menorca”:)
2. Stay in Ciutadella
White-washed walls, crumbling facades, pastel-hues and all types of doors and windows out of Instagram feature – that’s Menorca beautiful town. Considered as one of the most beautiful cities in all of Spain.
Our travel to Menorca was marked by our memorable stay at Rifugio Azul located on the cutest, narrow street right in the heart of Ciutadella.
Thankfully to the owner, Marta, we felt like at home and had a great opportunity to experience the real island life in a typical Menorquin house. Click here to book your stay at Rifugio Azul.
Not to forget, the tasty and cheerful breakfasts prepared by her every morning.
If you are thinking to visit Menorca and you are searching for a place to stay, Rifugio Azul is definitely the right choice. We totally recommend it.
3. Try some seafood
There are hundreds of great restaurants around the island, but there is nothing better than eating fresh fish from the local market where you can choose from a vast variety of seafood and prepare it as you wish in any of the surrounding restaurants.
4. Get the best views
Monte Toro is the island’s tallest mountain and it gives some of the best views of Menorca. On a clear day, you may spot mainland Spain. El Toro is considered as the spiritual center of the island, and it’s been a place of pilgrimage since the 13th century.

|Menorca is truly a beautiful place; I first heard of this when I worked as a marketing assistant for Travel Republic. Lovely beaches and natural sceneries. And the rustic town is just wow; the “traditional” look is lovingly preserved.
